Do I actually get to drive the car?

YES! Unlike traditional racing programs that focus on classroom instruction & driving theory, your ProFormance Racing experience begins with a comprehensive 45-minute classroom instruction session, personalized safety gear fitting and then concentrates on putting you in the driver’s seat for the rest of the day.

How fast will I go?

Your top speed will be determined by two factors: 1) How comfortable your instructor is with your ability to drive and handle higher speeds and, 2) The track itself will limit your ability to push the car to its limit. Generally most tracks allow our drivers to reach speeds of over 100 – 140 mph.

How likely is an accident?

In addition to state-of-the-art race car technology, fully-trained/licensed professional instructors (a 2:1 student/instructor ratio, an unheard of industry standard only offered by ProFormance), onsite EMT staff and the latest in racing safety gear for our drivers, the risk is extremely low. It is not unusual for a car or two to spin out during an event but rarely is there an injury or even damage. In the unlikely case of race car damage (there has only been one incident with a first-time driver during the past two decades), guests are required to sign a mandatory trackside waiver and ProFormance Racing liability release (full insurance is covered in the driver registration price, with a $5,000 USD damage deductible).

What are the driver requirements?

Drivers are required to have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a standard transmission (our cars have 4-speed “H” pattern gear shifts just like a regular street car). Due to the physical nature of the event as well as the limits of race suit sizes and seat sizes in the race cars, we ask that only that individuals in reasonable physical health and weight (under 275 lbs) register to drive. We also ask that you wear comfortable clothing and soft-soled, toe-enclosed shoes; tennis shoes are fine. No sandals or cowboy boots please. Minimum age for drivers is 18 years old, however, with parent/guardian approval (special liability form required) drivers 16 years old are eligible to participate.

What happens if it rains?

Programs run rain or shine. Light rain is not an issue although severe weather can compromise safety as race cars are not equipped with windshield wipers or defoggers. In the event that the race day is called do to weather, a make-up date will be booked on an agreed upon date (no cash refunds).

What can I expect on race day?

Your morning will begin with a continental breakfast and registration at 8:30am, followed by a 45-minute classroom session that will introduce you to some of the basic concepts of high-performance driving and safety. You will then be fitted with a racing suit and helmet, and assigned to “your” race car and a personal coach/instructor (based upon your level of experience & capabilities) for a day of exhilarating racing. A catered lunch is provided at noon, as well as beverages and snacks throughout the day. Racing typically ends at approximately 4:30pm.

Can I bring spectators?

We encourage race fans and you are welcome to bring out spectators such as family, friends, co-workers, etc. We ask that all guests arrive no later than 8:15am for guest registration processing and to complete necessary trackside waivers. Please contact us in advance to purchase additional meals for your guests, if desired.

What is ProFormance’s deposit & cancellation policy?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of your reservation booking. In the event of an emergency cancellation, this deposit is transferable or can be carried through to the following year (minus any out-of-pocket expenses). Final payment is due on or before your race date.

What type of tracks does ProFormance Racing run at?

As the industry’s only mobile stock car racing school, we bring our fleet and industry-renowned instruction team to you, offering the ultimate in corporate entertainment at the country’s finest motorsports facilities (full-size oval tracks and road courses) in Reno, Las Vegas, San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Seattle, Phoenix, Portland, and throughout Canada. We can support an event on any type of track as long as it does not have corners which we deem could provide a safety issue (generally karting & supercross tracks).
